By Car
The most popular way to travel from Kuala Lumpur to Cherating is to drive. Depending on the traffic, Cherating is only a three-hour drive away from KL, so if you prefer to make the most of your time, travelling by car is the way to go. From Klang Valley, you drive north to enter the Karak Highway and from there it's all the way straight to the east coast. With the ample signboards and rest stops on the highway, as well as GPS navigation apps on our phones, you should have a comfortable and easy drive to Cherating.
Keep in mind that there are tolls on the highway so make sure that you have enough money on hand and that your Touch n' Go card is topped up so you don't find yourself stuck at the tollbooth. While there are petrol stations and rest stops that you can visit to top up the funds in your card, it's best to have enough funds in it before you leave KL. Also, don't forget to fill up your fuel tank.
