Snow heaven
What a great ski vacation. I went with some great friends and we had the ski trip of a life time. The snow fall was record breaking, the food was amazing and we just had the best time! I can't wait to go back.

Consistency is king
It's my 2nd year back in Club Med Kiroro Peak and I must say the experience is just as consistent overall. Everything just works. If you're here for a lazy, easy ski holiday I really don't think it gets better. Even comparing to the other club meds. Tomamu? Massive. 10 - 15 min walks to get to your locker from the meal areas. Grand? Have fun taking the gondola up and down everytime you wanna go to or leave the slopes. Peak is so compact that its a 2 min walk from any of the common areas, bar, restaurant, ski lockers. So lazy. So easy. So good.
When they say no children, it's children under 12. So you will still get 13 year olds screaming around. (Please raise the age to 16)
Pricing is fair - trust me as someone who's been to over touristed places like Niseko and Hakuba, what you're paying for is completely fair. Unless you hate eating buffets for whatever reason.
The rooms are spacious, clean and have all the amenities you can think of. Yes there's coin laundry too. Ample place to hang dry your gross sweaty base layers, socks and neck warmers. The lockers are a SMIDGE small, you can only have 2 sports equipment inside. So either 2 skis, 2 snowboards or 1 each, it was a bit of a pain for me as I have 2 skis. But more importantly the room is dry and warm enough so things generally dry off.
The food was great, enough selection (not as much as Grand) and while it can get a bit repetitive especially for breakfast.. you're here to ski/snowboard right? So fuel up and go. But honestly it's really good - beef wellington, wagyu steaks, snow crabs.. all in the buffet. They've expanded their paid options this year if you want a little something extra, but like I said I'm here to ride. Beer is freeflow for those who drink, as well as most basic drinks at the bar. You can always make a reservation and hop on over to grand if you need more variety. But like I said, I'm here for lessons and to ride.
SPECIAL SHOUTOUT to Wisnu the asst restaurant manager who went the extra mile EVERYDAY to make sure we were well fed and comfortable. My sister fell sick and he personally delivered porridge late at night, and breakfast the next morning. When was the last time your ski accommodation took the initiative to feed you when you were sick?
This year they hired a bar singer! Let me tell you that completely transformed the vibe of the bar. John is a fantastic singer and a great guy to be around overall. Tatiana, the CdV als occasionally joins in (man she's EVERYWHERE) the fun. By far the BEST addition to Kiroro peak. Game changer for me honestly.
The ski lessons were good as well. I know it's always been a bit of a dice roll with club med lessons but this time around they were good. Charlie was more proactive than other instructors in giving individual feedback and taking videos of us.
Mersila was a lot of tough love but damn if it doesn't improve your skiing. You NEED someone to tell you what you're doing wrong and how to fix it. Don't waste your time watching videos or spending hours on a mountain when a good instructor can immediately tell you what mistakes to fix. Truely they are blessed to have her as an instructor. I was lucky enough to have her for 2 days, and my only regret was not booking a private lesson.
I wasn't personally taught by Hinata but she's such a sweetheart and joined us for many meals, it was fun hearing her talk about her experiences as a ski instructor. She really brightened up our meals. Also happy to have Tomas in our meals as he shared the ski culture Slovenia and Europe. We also had King join us for meals and it was always a riot. I hope he's no longer bleeding
One bad thing - my ski classes (Club 4) were absolutely MASSIVE. We're talking 18 - 20 people with 2 instructors. That's 9 - 10 per class, kind of insane. I'm amazed I got any feedback at all honestly. Really, that's almost double of what most group lessons are. As someone who comes to club med because of the lessons, this was really a bummer. I felt like I was being upsold a private lesson sometimes, because the group lessons were so crowded.
I would also like to mention Raditha who helped us with our bags and general enquiries. I got lost and he personally showed me to the ofuro, a shortcut via the mountain centre! He's so polite and easy to approach.
The front of desk was a little weak especially with the check ins, but Raditha REALLY saved the experience.
Big shout out to Tatiana the CdV. She's EVERYWHERE and I don't know how and she does everything. Design shirts, sing (and boy can she sing), MAKE PIZZA. Not sure if there's something she can't do. I really enjoyed the vibes this year and the logical conclusion is it's set from the top. Good job Tatiana! We really enjoyed our stay!

Great experience at club med Kiroro peak
Stayed 4 nights at club med Kiroro peak. Decided to book this cause its exclusively for adults only and its a ski through resort. Being a ski through resort is so much of a convenient as it saves time and minimizes the hassle of carrying the heavy equipments around. Kiroro peak is an intimate resort, small but has all you need.
My husband took the snowboarding lesson for 3 days straight and he was very pleased to be in instructor King’s class. King gave very useful and effective snowboarding tips and brought them to a few different slopes for a better and more efficient learning experience.
Area of improvement would be the house keeping and transfer services. House keeping tend to be on a slower side. There is no direct number to dial for housekeeping thus we can only call the recept and they will convey the message to housekeeper. Sometimes it would take awhile for service to be delivered.
For shuttle services from Otaru to club med, there is no mentioned of the services in club med’s website or probably I could have missed it. There is a separate link which guests can book the shuttle bus from Otaru JR station to club med however you need to book at least 1 day in advance and subjects to availability. We didn’t managed catch the shuttle bus on the actual day as it was already fully booked. If we were know this earlier, we would have booked it way in advance. In the end we took a taxi which cost around 11,000 JPY.
Apart from that we had a very enjoyable time in Kiroro Peak. Will definitely be back again.

DIFFERENT VIEWPOINT OF CLUB MED KIRORO PEAK
I have seen negative reviews of the Club Med Kiroro Peak resort in this TripAdvisor chain.
I acknowledge that everyone is entitled to his own opinion.
My family and I stayed at the resort from December 14 to 18, and the experience was so enjoyable that we extended our stay until the 21st. What we cherished most was the opportunity to bond as a family and discover that my wife and two sons are quite skilled at skiing – an achievement in itself. We also greatly appreciated the new friendships we made, not only with the staff but also with other families staying at the resort.
Do we mind that the GM, senior staff, or any Club Med team members didn’t personally greet us or engage in conversation? Not at all. If my family felt differently, it would suggest a flaw in our character, as if a simple interaction would serve to inflate our egos.
As for the food, our family had no complaints – in fact, we enjoyed the effort to change the menu every day. We understand that, due to the snow, logistics can be challenging, and we appreciate that the chef and his team did their best to offer a variety. That’s what matters most. If anyone expects otherwise, they may want to reconsider their choice of accommodation.
The cleanliness of our room was also exceptional. We developed a rapport with the housekeeping staff, who were always cheerful despite their hard work. If there were ever any oversights, guests can simply inform the staff, and the matter would be promptly addressed. When we requested firmer pillows, the team provided helpful suggestions, allowing us to make an informed and satisfying choice for our selection.
Regarding the GM’s presence, we understand that besides engaging with guests, her role is to handle the resort’s administrative and operational tasks, ensuring everything runs smoothly and most importantly, prioritizing the safety of the guests. It’s a demanding responsibility, and we should be empathetic to that.
We believe the entire team at Kiroro Peak can only improve with kind and constructive feedback. For instance, providing those guests who need guidance on how to use lighting, air conditioning, and the minibar would be helpful. In fact, our family was so well-fed that we never even needed to touch the minibar.
Ultimately, it comes down to personal perspective.
My family and I wholeheartedly support Tatiana Chew, her team, the F&B staff, and everyone representing the resort. There's no need for concern – improvements are always possible, and we are confident they will continue to enhance the experience. In fact, if Tatiana Chew is still at the resort, we would eagerly look forward to returning for our next ski holiday.

Incredible Find
This is the third winter season my wife and I have returned to Kiroro Peak. We don’t normally return to the same place as we like to explore new things when we travel. However Club Med Kiroro Peak is something special.
This was confirmed when after returning to my room from the Ofuro (hot water bath) I realised my gold wedding ring was no longer on my finger. After retracing my steps looking frantically, I approached Michael at reception. He was sympathetic and made arrangements to get staff to search. It was possible the ring may have dropped off on the ski slopes as i took off my gloves to take photos. I had given up hope of finding the ring (we were checking out the next day) and gone to bed when the call came to the room that the ring had been found in the room that I had gone for stretching after skiing ⛷️ (wonderful powder).
Apologies for the inconvenience and extra work created but a big thank you to all the Club Med staff who created another memorable reminder of why we keep returning to this resort.
