Turkoise Turks and Caicos

This was our 12th visit to Club Med Turkoise since May 2021, and our first of three (maybe 4) this year. Turkoise is a second home to us, not only because of our familiarity with the resort, but also, and primarily, for the people we've met and continue to see time and again during our stays. For those that "get" Club Med and the type of experience it delivers, there truly is no substitute. It is for this reason that many guests return, over and over again.

If you know what Club Med provides, and also what it doesn't, you'll know whether this a resort you'll love or if you should look elsewhere. The rooms are basic, and could use some updating. That said, they are clean, the bed is comfortable, there is a safe for valuables, a refrigerator to keep food/drinks cold and nearly every room has some sort of ocean view. The AC works as well as it can, trying to keep up with the endless tropical heat. If you like your room very cold, keep the curtains closed during the day and request a fan from reception. The fan is also useful to dry wet clothes at the end of the day.

The food is fantastic. Head Chef Hector and his team provide a wide variety of dishes to suit every taste. There is a lot of seafood, as well as chicken, beef, pasta, pizza, vegetarian and vegan options at every meal. If you have a food allergy or require any special accomodation, ask the restaurant team and they will do their best to find a solution. The restaurant staff is overall pleasant, with two standouts. Christopher from the day shift and Trova from the evening shift are always smiling and helpful. We look forward to seeing them each day they are working.

What truly sets Club Med apart from other resorts are the wide range of activities you can choose to participate in, or not, if you'd rather just relax by the pool. These activities include:

-Tennis: Tennis classes are available nearly every day, as well as daily afternoon tennis tournaments. Instuctors Joel and Max are knowledgeable, give good instruction, and play music during the classes to keep the energy up. We thoroughly enjoyed taking classes with them!
-Sailing: You must sail on Grace Bay during your stay! If you don't know how, the sailing team will teach you. Chief of Sailing Rafa keeps things safe - make sure you catch him at karaoke, too. Sailing team members Nathan, Loic, Erik and Raph are all knowledgeable and help to keep safe on the seas.
Aquagym: During our stay, Simone, Sophie and Max all led Aquagym. It's a great way to cool off and work off a few calories, too.
Circus: If you're feeling adventurous, take a trapeze or circus class! Circus Supervisor Mason, and his team of Jacob, Jake, Elise and Morgan will keep you safe while you learn. This amazing team will also keep you entertained and in awe of their skills during the nightly shows.

The bar staff does a good job of managing simultaneous request from multiple people. Those that complain that service is slow should keep in mind that one drink can take a few minutes to make and that, sometimes, one person in line might be ordering drinks for several people at one time. Drink recipes can vary from one bartender to another, so if you get a drink that is to your liking, try to remember who made the drink and go back to them in the future. Shout-out to Alex, Daniel, Kerri, Molly, David, Jackson, Mia, Nathalia and Fred for the good drinks!

The shows are entertaining and fun. Two shows not to be missed are the outdoor trapeze show and Music Factory.

Lastly, a special shoutout to Nathan and Loic. We've thoroughly enjoy talking with these two and getting to know them over several trips. They make our stays in Turks that much more enjoyable.

And, special shout out to Fred from the bar team. We liked talking with him to and appreciate that he came to the reception area to wish us well, ON HIS DAY OFF!, when we departed.

And, special shoutout to Alex(andra - nurse), Max(ine - tennis) and Simone for inviting and letting us two old folks tag along with them to Danny Buoy's for an off resort ice hockey watching outing.

And, special shout out to Joel for the constant encouragement and advice on the tennis court.

The beach at this location is absolutely stunning! We enjoyed swimming in the ocean, kayaking, pickleball, and snorkeling. Julian and Gabi were great guides on our snorkel trips. Make sure to stop by the bar and ask for David. He's hands down the best bartender. The variety and quality of the food is really good. The desserts are only so-so, but the variety of fresh breads is amazing! You definitely want to have the white chocolate danishes. My only complaint at this resort is the individual rooms. They need a deep cleaning and updating.

Service top notch , rooms are not the very Best but there’s so much to do we are never in the room. I had a Small issue with m’y room and it was solved on the spot by super Romane at the réception. Food great lots of sports to do we’ll be back

Club med TCI is a great all adults resort that is I’m my opinion the best on the island. My wife and I have visited this particular resort multiple times and have never been disappointed. The staff known as GOs are what make the place so great. It gives more of a feeling of visiting family as repeat guests than being a hotel guest. If you are looking for interaction, activity and not so much the white glove service and butlers. This is the place for you.

One negative for this last visit is arriving on the island. While this has nothing to do with club med I have to warn others . We were pulled out of line at the airport where all our luggage was searched. Not only was this done in a public manner but it was time consuming. It took so long that by the time we got outside the taxi pickup area was empty and we had to either wait for the next flight to come in and clear customs . Or pay double for a private cab as there was no one left to share one with. I do not recommend getting the customs fast tack at $75 pp as the family behind us off the same flight to be searched had it and left after even us.
