Kabira Ishigaki Japan

I spent 10 nights in November, traveling alone. The weather was not perfect with wind and rain on several days, but I managed to have a very good time here.
It also was my first time in a Club Med which means I do not have a basis to compare to others.

One of the most important places for me as single traveller was the bar where the bar team under the competent supervision of Wind (ask him about Whisky if you're interested) made me feel very welcome. A thanks to my favourite Bartender Haruka who not only provided me with advice for and actual drinks but also some friendly conversations.

During my stay it was no problem to make my PADI open water license. The integration of euro-divers diving school is very convenient. Also, for snorkelling and regular fun dive trips.

The food was buffets 3 times a day with usually daily changing meals. I had no complaints at all.

The crows there are kind of a pest though. They attack and steal food from everyone who takes any food openly outside. They are being fought with Falcons but always be wary.

The activities are somewhat limited, especially if the sea is not calm or there is a lot of wind which leads to the water sports being cancelled. The limited number of spots was not really an issue during my stay. Though due to the diving taking up significant time, I barely took part anyway.

Although alone, it was no issue to partake in amazing family where I had a good time while Stella was teaching me how to make a paper rose.
Eventually I got integrated enough to buy some clothes for the "dress codes". While obviously not cheap, I got competent and kind advice in the boutique by Layla.

The island excursions are done by an external company and were only available in Japanese. But I managed to take part anyway.

So, the GO are great, and the diving integration couldn’t be better. I also enjoyed the food.
Buildings and rooms are far from new but in my case clean and in all cases with phenomenal view. I learned closing the bathroom door will avoid having an unpleasant smell in the room.
I also would have wished for bicycles to be made available, but those are only available in the context of a guided activity. If you want to explore by yourself, you must organize yourself.

I came here with my wife and we fully enjoyed this great place. The rooms were nice and clean but showing age, plenty to do with a great staff, with Milk helping me out with a surprise for my wife and the bartender Wind who makes a great drink and is a great person to talk and joke with at the bar. (My personal favorite person at the resort)

I had a lot of fun this November when I came to club med in Japan. I was introduced to a whole bunch of activities; tennis, football, diving, ping pong… etc. Also a special thanks to Josh, a tennis teacher that taught me how to play tennis really well

Is a very happy moment and enjoy buffet every meal with such a food and service that provide to us Restaurant manager Benz and Chef Selim is our appreciated staff to recognize they smile and give us recommend in the restaurant hope to come back and see Clubmed kabira again
